Master

• This story takes place around Prophecy while Lionel's goals are the same as in Finale.
• Lionel takes control of Alex similar to how he took control of Conner in Scion, except with an implanted voice command rather than Red Kryptonite.
• Tess saves Alex by somehow gaining knowledge of how the brainwashing works like how Clark was able to destroy the Red Kryptonite ring on Conner.
• Alex uses a drop of the neural toxin in a less extreme way that Tess did in Finale where he uses a drop to make Lionel forget everything since his attempt to use Red Kryptonite on Conner.

Superboy

Conner on the verge of being Superboy.

• The story takes place immediately after Finale with Tess' neural toxin having apparently failed to erase Lex's memories.
• Tess is revived by Alex and Conner using flesh from their arms to repair her damaged body, as in Lazarus.
• LX-17 is based on the Lex Luthor from Superman Returns.
• Alex is separated from his dark side the same way Lex was in Onyx, with evil Alex going by Alexander.
• Alexander's then possessed by what remains of Darkseid in a preemptive strike against the next generation until he's stopped by Conner in the same way Clark stopped him.
• Lex then greets Tess the way he greeted Clark when he first returned.
