Thanks to the nanobot skin Lex trapped her in, Lana has super strength, speed, and invulnerability on par with Clark's during the Doomsday mess. It also gives her the ability to absorb Kryptonite radiation. Also, before hand, Lex trained Lana in hand-to-hand combat.

Weaknesses[]

Lana has no known weaknesses yet, though it's possible that the Kryptonite absorption might make her extremely susceptible to the Jitters.

She then uses a Veritas Communicator to call Question and Jimmy Olsen about it. Lana met the teenage heroes, Miss Martian, Blue Beetle, and Robin at the mouth of the cave to await Conner bringing the revived Phantom, now called Bizarro, as he does so, with Lana awkwardly greeting him. When Bizarro absorbs the radiation and flies off, Lana double checks the crystals created and confirms that it's just a repository of Kryptonian crystals. She then gets officially introduced by Conner and notes a similarity to Lex that few others see, shocked that he's a clone of Clark and Lex. She also asks Conner to say thanks to Bizarro for her next time he sees him. When Conner suggests visiting Smallville sometime, Lana turns him down, feeling that it's too awkward for her to meet up with Clark, Lois, and Tess at that point. Lana then greets Lois before Conner arrived with Emily. Lana is surprised to see her and asks where she came from. She then hears the theory that Emily was created by Lex. Lana then asks how Emily has abilities, learning that Emily developed both super strength and super speed. Escaping from where she came from, she went to the farm looking for Lana. Lana then comforted Emily as she felt guilty over the previous Emily's actions. She then had Emily stay with Clark and Lois while she went to figure out where Emily came from, with Conner, John, Jaime, and Megan going with her. They then go to Emily's room at the Dinsmore house as Lana assures Conner that this time, they know what they're looking for. Lana tries to activate the panel, but it doesn't work. When Conner rips the shelf away, and John uses explosive gel to blow through the wall, Lana points out that Conner, Jaime, or Megan could have done that, accepting that John wanted to show off. Lana then lead the way inside as nothing is there. Though Lana does notice a suspicious looking camera.

With that out of the way, Lana decided to tickle Emily as they began playing together like a mother and daughter. While searching Suicide Slums, Lana runs into someone who seems to be Mrs. Dinsmore as Lana says she's looking around and asks how she's been, getting the cold shoulder as Mrs. Dinsmore walks off, purposefully bumping into Lana. Getting suspicious, Lana follows Mrs. Dinsmore to a shack that turns out to house a lab Lana sees Emily in. When Mrs. Dinsmore sees she's there, Lana assures her that she just wants to make sure Emily's okay. Lana tries to defend herself, but Mrs. Dinsmore continues to blame Lana for the original Emily's death. Lana however, states that Emily's special now, and she needs Mrs. Dinsmore to calm down, aggravating her all the more as she shoots at Lana before Lana catches the bullet and tries to convince Mrs. Dinsmore to think. Just then, Emily comes out of the lab and defends Lana as Lana tries to continue to reason with Mrs. Dinsmore until she sees the necklace the first clone was wearing when they first met. She asks about it as Mrs. Dinsmore is confused by the statement, so Lana asks about anything from before Emily's accident, which Mrs. Dinsmore can't remember. Realizing Mrs. Dinsmore is actually the first clone, Lana jogs her memory by telling her how the original Emily died, leading the clone to remember when Lana told her about it at the bridge where the accident happened when they'd first met. Lana gets punched by the clone as Lana tries to reason with her until she convulses and falls over, finally dying from the clone degeneration causing her heart to stop. Lana then took Emily and left the room. Lana then meets up with Superboy and Superman with Emily, helping Emily explain how the first Emily clone got confused due to the accelerated aging and thought she was Mrs. Dinsmore. When Conner realizes that Emily already knows how to begin floating, Lana explains that it's steering and landing she has trouble with. She then objects to Emily landing right then as it's too dangerous, grabbing Conner's ear when he begins to argue the point. As Lana went off, Conner taught Emily to fly, and when Lana came back into see Emily zooming around, she was shocked, especially that Emily had mastered landing. When Conner said that nothing could hold Emily down now, Lana sadly stated that she knew that and sped off. At Smallville, she accidentally purchased Red Kryptonite laced lipstick, making her fall under its endorphic influence. Lana then met up with Clark in the kitchen, dressed like when she was influenced by the Nicodemus flower. Lana then tells Clark that they have another chance and kisses Clark when she doesn't believe that Clark actually loves Lois now, resulting in Clark being affected by Red Kryptonite. However, that still didn't work as Clark simply acted like himself, though recklessly open about his powers and openly kissed Lois, making Lana break down and accuse Lois of stealing Clark from her. She was also upset that Clark had told her about the incident with the Nicodemus Flower before Clark went off with Lois. When Conner and Emily arrived after helping the cow Bessie give birth, Lana put the moves on Conner. Lana then kissed Conner, infecting him with Red Kryptonite. Asking if he liked that, the two sped out of the farm, leaving Emily behind. The two were at the mill, and were about to have sex when Clark, Batman, Martian Manhunter, Miss Martian, and Lois arrived, much to Lana's annoyance. Lana was confused when Clark restored Conner to normal via Kryptonite exposure before rushing to relieve herself in the bushes. Upon coming back, she had returned to normal. Lana then met Conner and asked who he was, learning she was in Metropolis at the time. She also noted how Conner looked like Clark. She then learned about Conner's backstory and that Bizarro had saved her. Lana then met Conner and asked who he was, learning she was in Metropolis at the time. She also noted how Conner looked like Clark. She then learned about Conner's backstory and that Bizarro had saved her. Lana then asked Conner to give Bizarro a thank you from her before heading back to Edge City, being unwilling to talk to Clark, Lois, and Tess.

They then go to Emily's room at the Dinsmore house as Lana assures Conner that this time, they know what they're looking for. Lana tries to activate the panel, but it doesn't work. A week after Clark's death, Lana was working at Watchtower with Emily when she's trying to keep busy, angrily looking for a report on Omega City's reconstruction. She then insists to Emily that she's fine when she suggests taking over for her while she rests. She then admits that she was like this when the real Emily had died. Lana is then comforted by Emily and chuckles about Emily's complicated backstory. Lana later attended Superman's funeral with the rest of the League, listening to both Green Arrow's speech of continuing the good fight for Clark and Martian Manhunter's eulogy. Lana then went back to the farm with the others. The next day as Lois was beginning to break down over losing Clark, Lana comforted her and assured her that it was okay. When Clark finally destroyed Brainiac, Lana awoke from her catatonic state, completely recovered. She made Clark a video and left it at the farm for him to find with the engagement ring. She told Clark that she was leaving and he should not follow her. She let him know that she still loved him, more than he would ever know.

She attended Chloe's bridal, much to Clark's surprise. As Clark and Lana spoke about the decisions Lana had made about leaving and Lana accepting how Clark and Lois make more sense than her and Clark, the Kryptonian beast Doomsday crashed the wedding and kidnapped Chloe. Lana offered to help Clark find Chloe, beginning by putting away some Kryptonite that got knocked loose. She then met the Legion of Superheroes who saved the two from the time traveling Persuader. After Clark and the Legion retrieved the Brainiac possessed Chloe, Clark and Lana worked together to help bring Chloe's consciousness forward, so Garth and Rokk were able to pull Brainiac out easier.

After Lana went missing and Clark, Kara, and Krypto discovered that she had been kidnapped by the other Lex, Clark learned about the real reasons why she left seven months ago. In actuality, the other Lex's men, led by Victoria Hardwick, obeyed Lex's orders to force her to give Clark a "Dear John" DVD, and went into hiding for an unknown period of time. It turns out Lana was kidnapped by the other Lex, so she was subjected to Lex´s Project Prometheus. Her skin was fused with a super suit made of nanotechnology and alien DNA, which gave her superpowers. After rescuing Clark and Kara from Victoria, Lana breaks them all free, and they escape. At the farm, Lana explains to Clark that she didn't want to break up with him, but Clark understands. She then kisses Clark, hoping to restart their relationship, but Clark gently turns her down. Lana understands, and they agree to be friends. Lana then encourages Clark to go see Lois. As Lana began to relax in Smallville, she joined in his patrol of Metropolis. However, their happiness did not last long as Lex devised a plan to separate Clark and Lana forever for having destroyed his life. As they investigate an explosion that occurred in LuthorCorp, Lana found that the bomb was enhanced with Kryptonite and was shocked to discover that her suit could absorb the energy of the Kryptonite from Dr. Swann. After Lex informed them of his plan to blow up the Daily Planet with a Kryptonite bomb along with the rest of the city, Lex told the couple that they had to make a decision about what to do as Lana's suit could deactivate the bomb and absorb the Kryptonite, but this would also make her untouchable to Clark. After a moment's hesitation, Lana made the heartbreaking choice to sacrifice her love for, and friendship with, Clark. She then deactivated the bomb, absorbing all the Kryptonite it held in it. Unable to take off the suit, Lana finally decided to leave Smallville again. Knowing that this would be the last time he would see her, Clark moved close to Lana. Despite her objections, he kissed her one last time before weakening himself and falling to the floor in pain. Lana walked toward the staircase with tearful eyes, turned around and assured him that even though they couldn't be together, even as friends, she would always be in his heart. They confessed their love for each other one last time, before Lana turned around and left the barn—and Clark—apparently forever.

She points out how this shouldn't be awkward, and she admits to Clark that she had a date with Bruce, which Clark already knew.
